A phone with the code name HTC Ocean Note was said to be the HTC U Ultra, a 6-inch phablet. Then came further word that the sequel to the HTC 10 could be the 5.2-inch HTC U Play, also expected to be unveiled on January 12th.
With the unveiling of both models possibly just two days away (January, 12) , specs for both the devices were leaked today on weibo.
According to the post by a tipster named @Upleaks.
The new Snapdragon 835 (MSM8998) chipset is said to be powering the phone with an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 540 GPU.
Coupled with 4GB of RAM is inside along with 64GB of internal storage.
A dual-camera setup (24MP and 13MP) is on back along with a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies and video chats.
A second screen seemingly appears near the selfie camera in front. Powering with 4000mAh battery with a fingerprint scanner on back.
The main rear camera with LED flash is clearly visible along with USB C port.
There is no 3.5 mm audio jack
For the HTC U Play
The same weibo site listed rumored specs that include a 5.2-inch display with a 1080 x 1920 resolution.
The MediaTek MT6755 (Helio P10) chipset with an octa-core CPU, and the Mali-T860 MP2 GPU.
Coupled with 3GB of RAM is on board along with 32GB of native storage. Both back and front-facing cameras weigh in at 16MP, and all these 2500mAh battery is included.
This comes with a front-facing fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button.
We strongly suggest that you take these specs with multiple grains of salt. The Snapdragon 835 isn’t expected to be powering any devices until the Samsung Galaxy S8 is released in April
